I have been interested in the saxophone and Jazz music since I was young. With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have taught hundreds of people to play the saxophone. When a place has Jazz, I often go there and sit in.
In 1996, several musicians and I started to organize a saxophone quartet and ensemble. In 1999, I joined a Jazz big band as a Tenor Saxophonist and Baritone Saxophonist. I later also learned the double bass. I also made some TV drama music recordings and won a local music competition. In 2002, I formed the FG Jazz big band and saxophone ensemble. I am also currently the owner/director of Saxmen Studio in Hong Kong.
When I do the sound testing of different mouthpieces in preparation for a performance, I always rely upon Rovner ligatures for creating the best tone with my saxophones. My favorites are the Versa-X, Versa and Platinum. The Versa especially gives me a lot of options for creating the ideal sound. I believe it is always important to do my best and never give up!
